Fred Violet Obituary

Fred Violet, 78, of Lapeer passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center in Mayville.  Fred was born on July 7, 1947, the son of Robert Ernest and Edith Inez (Pingleton) Violet. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army. Fred met Karen Clauson at Control Data in 1969 and were married a year later. They were about to celebrate the 55th year of marriage in October. Fred always called his sister “Baby Sis”, the twins loved rubbing her toothbrush on a bar of soap and telling her to pick the smallest twig for spanking instead of a bigger one. They used to fool her by trading a nickel for a dime because it was bigger and worth more. There was nothing Fred loved more than being with the family, whether it be woodworking, fishing, hunting (sitting in the hunting shack laughing so loud that it is surprising that they saw deer at all, deer are curious creatures and they came to see what the racket was about) or participating at Rendezvous at the Columbiaville Sportsman Club.

Fred is survived by his wife, Karen, sons, Troy Anthony (Deborah) Violet and Tracy Allen (Lorna) Violet, granddaughter, Ashley Marie (Joel Ellis) Violet, grandsons, Jeremiah Tyler (Katie) Violet, Alexander Xaviour Violet, Seth Fisher, great grandsons, Demetri and Damien, sister, Darla Lee Lawrence, nieces and nephew, Stacy and Christopher Pender, Dan and Crystal Lawrence, Jessica Violet-Ellis, several great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Frank and brother, Robert Jr.

In keeping with Fred’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Fred will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 12:30 P.M. with Military Honors.
