Francis Nellenbach, age 94, a lifelong resident of North Branch passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the United Hospice of Marlette. Francis was born at the family home in North Branch on December 29, 1926, the son of Charles Clarence and Therese (Scholtz) Nellenbach. He attended North Branch Area School. On September 14, 1948, he married Doris Weingartz at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was a dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Mary’s Burnside Catholic Church. Francis enjoyed playing card and board games. He was a quiet, simple and soft spoken man. First and foremost he was very devoted to his faith, family and farm. He loved animals and encouraged his children to have pets. Spending time and visiting with his family and friends were very special to him.
Francis is survived by his daughters, Margo (Mark) Repp of Washington,, Brenda Turner of Brown City and Angela (Perry) Majeski of St. Clair, his sons, Michael (Julie) Nellenbach of Missouri and Stephen Nellenbach of Washington, his 15 grandchildren , his 3 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Genevieve Schlaud and Rosemary Schlaud, several nieces, nephews, and many good and caring neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his daughter, Patricia Nellenbach and his sisters, Cecilia Swoish and Margaret Schlaud.
The family will be present for visitation on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday. On Thursday, October 7, 2021 visitation will be 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Burnside Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Sama Muma officiating. Francis will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
