Evelyn Elizabeth (Rabert) Bennett

Evelyn Bennett, age 91 of North Branch passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at her home with her family at her side.  Evelyn was born on January 15, 1928 in Almont Twp.  She was the daughter of Fred and Catherine (Labeau) Rabert.  Evelyn grew up in the Almont area and graduated from Imlay City High School. 

Evelyn worked at Oakdale State Home as their seamstress with several years of service.  During the summer you would see Evelyn out working in her beautiful flower gardens.  Before her health failed, she enjoyed sewing, traveling, camping and spending her winters in Florida with her husband. 

She is survived by her son, Ray (Diane) Bennett; grandchildren, Melanie (Rick) Ferguson, Jeremy (Lauryn) Bennett, Keith (Shannon) Bennett, Gary Shane (Amber) Bennett, Aaron (Marjorie) Bennett; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary (John) Bruner and Rosely (Franklin) Bellmay, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Keith, daughter Janice, son and daughter-in-law Gary and Beth. 

Visitation for Evelyn will be will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM and Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 10 to 11 AM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  The Funeral Service will follow on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband at Maple Grove Cemetery, North Branch.  Rev. Ronald Hutchinson will officiate.
