Ellen Frances (Nolan) Schlaud left this world peacefully to be with Jesus, Dad, and Susie. She was in her home on May 10, 2021 at the time of her passing, surrounded by her family in prayer. Ellen was born January 12, 1934 on her father and mother’s farm and married Bernard Anthony Schlaud in 1952. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. Her life was dedicated to loving all her family. She raised her 6 children and was at her sister’s side when Rita’s husband, Francis (Bernard’s Brother), died young. From that moment, the two families acted as one, with unconditional love from Ellen, Bernard, and Rita.
She is survived by; Children-MaryAnn (Gary) Sullivan, Stephen (DeNise) Schlaud, Katrina (Donald) Easlick, Patricia (Timothy) Bruise and Gerard (Carrie) Schlaud. Francis and Rita’s children- Mark (Marianne) Schlaud, Doug (Bernice) Schlaud, Christopher (Mona) Schlaud, Andrew (Shari) Schlaud, Francine (Jeffery) Weingartz and Johnna (Russell) Cranick. Brother, Paul Nolan and Sister, Rita (Nolan) Schlaud. She has 23 Loving Grandchildren and 42 Precious Great-Grandchildren. Her family reaches as far as, Germany to the East, Arizona, Oregon and Washington to the West. The majority of family lives just minutes from the homestead on Hasslick Road in North Branch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard in 2014, her daughter, Susan Gormley in 1990 as well as her Mother and Father-Elizabeth and John, Brothers-Jack and George, Sister-Kathryn.
Ellen worked outside of the home for number of years at Lapeer Hospital. She has many friends and acquaintances from the community, SS Peter & Paul Church and work. She will be greatly missed.
Both visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Washington Street in North Branch, Michigan. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on May 13, 2021 with Rosary prayed at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be at May 14, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. It will be officiated by dear friend of the family, Fr. Jim Houbeck. Ellen will be laid to rest at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery on Old State Road in North Branch beside the love of her life, Bernard.
