Elizabeth "Betty" Ann (Skwirsk) Weingartz

Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Weingartz, age 80, of Lapeer passed away on Friday, January10, 2020 at the “Sitting Angel” Adult Foster Care Home with her family by her side. Betty was the daughter of John and Dorothy (Wencel) Skwirsk. She was born on November 8, 1939 in Wayne, MI. Betty attended North Branch Area Schools and graduated in 1957. She was the class salutatorian.  Betty was a homemaker and a very good baker. She was a very crafty person. She enjoyed decorating cakes, woodworking, make floral arrangements and painting. Betty loved her family and spending time with them. She was always smiling. She was very active in her church and was a member of SS Peter & Paul Altar Society.

Betty is survived by her children, Theresa  Weingartz,Barbara (Dave) Sinka, Cynthia Love, Matthew Weingartz, and Gregory ( Alana) Weingartz; her siblings, Marian Scrimger, Carl Skwirsk, Charolette Whilhem, Margaret  Stephens and James Skwirsk ; her grandchildren, Rachel, Megan, David, Nicholas, Zane, Gage, Emerson, Braden and Abigail; her great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Ryder, Sophie, Piper and David III; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Kathryn Byrd, Lillian Chandler and Dorothy Newman; her brothers, John, Henry, Albert, Stanley, William, Gerald, Joseph and Francis Skwirsk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church-Building Fund.

Visitation for Betty will be on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.

 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Scripture service and rosary will be held at 4:00 P.M. with Father Muma.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M.  at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in North Branch. Rev. Richard Treml will officiate. Betty will be laid to rest at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery in North Branch.
