Eleanor Mae (Eberle) Diller

Eleanor Mae Diller, age 93, of North Branch passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the United Hospice House in Marlette, MI. She was born on October 30, 1926, in Ann Arbor, Mi, the daughter of Walter and Dora (Downing) Eberle.  She married George Diller on November 20, 1954 in North Branch, MI. He preceded her in death on May, 8, 2011.  Eleanor grew up in the Pontiac, MI. area and graduated from Pontiac High School.  She went on to receive her diploma in Christian Worker's Course at God’s Bible School in Cincinatti, Ohio. Eleanor served as a minister at many churches. She also did missionary work and was part of the GI's of the Cross.  Eleanor enjoyed sharing stories about all of the children she came to know and love. Eleanor worked for many years at Marlette Hospital in the activity department for Extended Care residents.

Eleanor enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching game shows, playing cards, knitting and cooking for her family. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Erwin of Atlanta, MI, Edward of North Branch, MI, Earl (Debbie) of North Branch, MI, Erin (Dawn) of North Branch, MI, Ethel (Kent) Sayers of Caro, MI and Walter (Tracey) of Silverwood, MI; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; her brother, Clifford (Virginia) Eberle; her sisters-in-law, Gloria Eberle, Evelyn Eberle and Louise Pasternak; many nieces, nephews,cousins and extended family.  Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; her siblings, Daniel Eberle, Alfred Eberle and Dorathene Cross; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Ethel Diller; sister and brother-in-laws, Sally and Harry Passingham, Fred Pasternak, Lula and Clare Patrick.

Memorials may be made to United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital in Eleanor’s memory.

Visitation for Eleanor will on Sunday, February 23, 2020, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Monday, February 24, 2020, visitation will be 9:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M. at the North Branch Wesleyan Church.   Funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M.  Pastor Peter Demaska and Pastor Ronald Hutchinson will be officiating. Eleanor will be laid to rest with her husband at Dawn Memorial Estates in Elba, MI.
