Edward John Rogers, age 60, of Lapeer, MI, passed away at his home on Friday, December 18, 2020. Ed was born on September 24, 1960, the son of Walter and Marcedes (Podvin) Rogers. He grew up in the Barnes Lake/North Branch area. He attended North Branch Area Schools and was a 1978 graduate. He attended college at Sanford University of Florida. Ed was a respiratory therapist for Ascension Health Care since 1982. Ed was a successful business man, founding Lapeer Sleep Diagnostic in 2002 and co-owner of Hospital Sleep Services in Grand Rapids, MI. Ed married Jennifer Nugent on November 3, 1984. Ed enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. He was a loving father and was always there in times of need and a strong shoulder to lean on.
Ed is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Jason (Hollie) Rogers, Shelly (Bryan) Kilcoin and Shanon (Roland) Schaudt ; his grandchildren, Emmett and Isla Rogers, Jake and Blake Kilcoin, and Abigail and Amelia Schaudt; his brothers, Walter(Betty) Rogers and Ronald Rogers; his sisters, Renee Rogers, Yvonne (Roger) Blumerich, Denise (Stephen) Schlaud and DeVona (Scott) Senko; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Danny and his nephews, Rodney, Roger and Troy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation for Ed will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, 1:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, visitation will be at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. Ed will be laid to rest at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in North Branch.
