Earl W. Boyle, age 75, of North Branch, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, with his wife by his side. He was born on August 22, 1949, in Flint, MI, to Charles and Florence (Hoffman) Boyle.
Earl grew up in North Branch and graduated from North Branch High School in 1968. On September 22, 2001, he married the love of his life, Roxanne Burke (Nelson). Despite facing many health challenges, Earl remained positive, always carrying a witty sense of humor. He will be remembered as a man of strength and resilience through adversity.
A dedicated and hardworking individual, Earl spent the majority of his career serving North Branch Area Schools as Head of Maintenance, retiring after 30 years. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the North Branch Fire Department for 14 years, where he held the position of Assistant Chief.
Earl enjoyed working on cars and antique clocks, hunting, and spending time with his wife, family, and friends, and especially his beloved pets, Rocky and Abbie.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 23 years, Roxanne Boyle, and his children: Christopher Boyle of North Branch, Amy (Edward) Schulz of North Branch, Joel Boyle of Fostoria, and Dustin (Nikki) Burke of Laingsburg. He also leaves behind his siblings: Caroline Woodward of Lapeer, Lowell (Sally) Boyle of Tennessee, Cecil (Corinne) Boyle of Lapeer, Kelly (Michelle) Boyle of Marlette, and Kendra (Russell) Richmond of Kingston,12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Florence Boyle; his brothers Jerome Boyle and Lyle Boyle; and his sisters Harlene Chambers, Ellen Ann Walker, Mina Haggadone, and Helen Meservey.
In accordance with Earl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held at Blackburn Chapel Martin Funeral Home on Sunday, May 18, from 12 pm to 4pm.
