Dorothy Louise Nolan, age 90 of North Branch passed away on December 12, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on March 7, 1933 at the family home, the daughter of John and Marie (Kula) Jasper. Dorothy grew up in the Five Lakes area. On July 28, 1951, she married John (Jack) Nolan at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch. Dorothy was a farmer and had her own catering business. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, gardening, and sewing. Dorothy was a very hard worker all of her life. Dorothy loved her family and spending time at family gatherings.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Theresa (Paul) Spencer, Michael (Tammy) Nolan, Joseph (Gina) Nolan, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild on the way, brothers, Fred (Sharon) Jasper and Gerald Jasper, sisters-in-law, Monna Jasper and Rita Schlaud, brother-in-law, Paul Nolan, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack, son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Mary Nolan, granddaughter, Ashley Nolan, great-grandchildren, Luke, Catherine and twin infant boys, her brothers, George Jasper, Clarence Jasper and infant sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy’s name may be made to Lapeer Community Foundation in memory of Ashley Nolan.
The family will be present for visitation on Friday, December 15, 2023, 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with rosary at 4:00 P.M. On Saturday, December 16, 2023 visitation will be 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Richard Treml will be officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery next to her husband.
