Dette (Alleger, Burke, Koehler) Mahuta, passed away on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, a month from her 78th birthday. She was born on February 2nd, 1944 in Ann Arbor, MI, the only daughter of Mr. Clement and Mrs. Gladys Alleger of Pittsford, MI.
Dette is survived by her husband, Dennis Mahuta, her daughter, Gavonna (Dan) Burke Agnew, her son, Bryan Burke, her son, Jamie (Melissa) Mahuta and her daughter, Cindy (Mahuta) Sowle, her grandchildren, Clayton, Tyler, Dominique, Shelby, Tyler and Trevor, her cousin, Lowell Alleger, her horses, Slippers and Chuck, her dogs, Zippity Do Da, Ginger Snap and Dash.
Dette was graduate of Pittsford High School the class of 1962. Most recently Dee closed her working career at Victory Customs Trailers in Metamora, MI wearing many hats to help nurture the start-up community business.
Dee loved most her family, friends, horses and dogs. She will be remembered for her passion and devotion to youth as a long time 4-H leader and equestrian team coach. All of us know that her horse was saddled up and waiting for her to take one more long trail ride.
Friends and family will be invited at a later date to share memories and celebrate her life.
