David Michael May
October 7, 1968 - May 29, 2025
David Michael May, age 56, of Lapeer, Michigan, passed away on May 29th, 2025. Born on October 7, 1968, David grew up in North Branch, Michigan and spent his life in the community he loved. David worked as Facilities Manager at Albar Industries, Inc., in Lapeer, MI, where his dedication and skills were deeply appreciated. One of his greatest recent projects is the exterior and interior remodeling of the front of the building. When you drive into the parking lot, you see his work and attention to detail. A man of many talents and quiet passions, David had a lifelong love of electronics. He was especially proud of his hobby of restoring antique radios - preserving pieces of history with meticulous care and craftsmanship. He also had a remarkable knowledge of commercial aircraft and could easily identify and describe nearly every model and their features, a passion that reflected his curious mind and attention to detail. David is survived by his brother Christopher, sister-in-law Kathleen, nephew Patrick (Brittany), and nieces Breanna, Erin, and Courtney (Michael), step-sister Irene (Mack) Davison. Great nephews Joshua and Mason and great niece Madison. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, his step mother Carolyn, and step brothers Bryan and Mark Papierski. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara and his father Edward, both whom he loved dearly. David will be remembered for his intelligence, his sarcastic humor style, and his kind, gentle spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services are private. The family extends their heartfelt thanks for your prayers and blessings during this difficult time.
Private services were held today June 13, 2025 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. David was laid to rest at St. Mary's Burnside Cemetery.
