David Matthew Hubbard

David M. Hubbard, age 78, of North Branch passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at his home with his wife by his side. Dave was born on May 8, 1944, in Detroit, the son of David M. and Viola (Touplik) Hubbard. Dave grew up in the Detroit/Utica area. He graduated from St. Lawrence High School in Utica in 1963. Dave proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman at Fort Polk. On July 14, 1989, he married Peggy St Pierre in Lapeer.

Dave was a member of the North Branch Masonic Lodge #312, Lapeer Royal Arch Masons #91, North Branch Eastern Stars #149 and the North Branch American Legion Post 457. Dave enjoyed boating, watching football, classic cars and spending time with family.

Dave is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, David (Kris) Hubbard, Meghan (Larry) Burkhart and Jason (Lisa) Hubbard; her children, Christian (Akiko) Welch and Andrew ( Brandi) Welch; his grandchildren, Kurtis (Darcey) King, Matthew Prosser, Tyler Prosser, Ashley Welch, Mallory Hubbard, McKenna Hubbard, L J Burkhart, Ricky Welch, Annie Welch, Rebel Welch, Wyatt Burkhart, his great-grandchildren, Madison, Peyton and Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the North Branch Masonic Center or the North Branch American Legion Post 457.

The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, September 25, 2022, 1:00 P.M-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Eastern Star Services will be held on Sunday at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home followed by the Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. On Monday, September 26, 2022 visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Deacon Peter Lynch will be officiating.

Dave will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery on October 7, 2022 at 9:00 A.M.
