Curtis Scott Bellanger Jr

Curtis Scott Bellanger Jr, age 57, of Lapeer, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at McLaren Lapeer Region.  Scott was born on March 25, 1964 in Lapeer, the son of Curtis S. and Dorene (Griswold) Bellanger Sr. Scott grew up in the North Branch area and attended North Branch Area Schools but completed his senior year in Lapeer. On May 29, 2009, Scott married Sheila Cloutier in Lapeer.

Scott worked as a site foreman for the Carpenter Local Union #687. He was a master carpenter. Scott loved working with his hands making beautiful cabinetry and refinishing wood to its original beauty. Scott enjoyed fishing, camping and football. He was a true Michigan fan “Go Blue!” He always looked forward to his and Sheila’s yearly trips to Sault Ste Marie.  He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Autumn and his grandsons. Scott always had a smile on his face and will be missed by his family and friends.

Scott is survived by his wife, Sheila Cloutier-Bellanger, his parents, Dorene Bellanger-Scott and Curtis (Cheryl Dost) Bellanger Sr., his children, Nicole (Dallas) Williams and Corey Wyse, his siblings, Shannon (Samuel Vyse) Bellanger, Jeaninne (Michael Standley II) Bellanger-Kosnik, Theresa Davis, Christine Arja, Jason (Morgan) Davis, Heidi (Ricky) Copes, Melissa(Joe) Capka, Mary Elizabeth  Davis, his grandchildren, Devin, Riley, Aidan, Kasin Brady, Austin Williams, Autumn Bellanger and Lydia Krouse, his aunt Verna (David) Shoultz, his uncles, Michael Griswold and Larry Griswold, his special aunt Barbara Griswold. Scott is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, his special four-legged friend, Brody and many great childhood friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Scott Bellanger, his grandparents, his step-father, Richard Scott, his uncle, Fred Griswold and his cousin, Ann Grossbauer.

Visitation for Scott will be on Sunday, January 30, 2022, 12:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Monday, January 31, 2022, visitation will be 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. with funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Ryan Glezman will officiate.   Scott will be laid to rest at Stiles Cemetery in Lapeer.
