Christine Lorraine (Chickonoski) Johnson

Christine Lorraine Johnson, age 75, of Wayland, MI passed away on July 6, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. Christine was born on October 28, 1946 in Hamtramck, MI, the daughter of John and Sophie (Bienkowski) Chickonoski. Christine attended North Branch Area Schools and was a 1964 graduate. On February 11, 1972, she married George Johnson in Lapeer, MI. Christine was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching the Detroit Tigers on television with George.

Christine is survived by her husband, George, her children, Darryl (Debi) Johnson, Kay (Robert) Marsman and Sara Johnson, her grandchildren, Noah, Kaiden, Caleb, Tim, Grace and Brendan, her siblings, Robert Chickonoski and David (Debbie) Chickonoski, her brother-in-law, Bob Schabel and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Virginia Schabel, infant brother, John and sister-in-law Barbara Chickonoski.

Visitation for Christine will be on Monday, July 11th at 1 PM with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 2 PM at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch, MI with Rev. Richard Treml officiating. Christine will be laid to rest at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
