Charles “Charlie” Henry Knox, age 76 of North Branch passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital. Charlie was born on April 26, 1947 in Nuremburg, Germany, the son of Charles and Emma (Forester) Knox. Charlie grew up in the Deerfield/North Branch area. He attended North Branch Area Schools. On June 14, 1969, he married Rosemary Swadling at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer.
Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War, he was awarded a Purple Heart and Silver Star. Charlie retired from General Motors. He served on the Deerfield Township Fire Department. Charlie owned and operated Knox Home Inspections. Charlie loved his Lord and Savior and his family, spending time with Rosemary, his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, boating, skiing, the Detroit Tigers, vacationing, going to car shows with his GTO. He was a hard worker, jokester and a “Kid at Heart.” He took great care in everything he did.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary, his daughters, Shelly (Rich) Reamer, Lori (Rocky) Tedford, his son, Randy (Connie) Mason, his grandchildren, Jerica, Allison, Devin, Caleb, Rylan, Emersyn, his great-grandchildren, Rhyder, River, Rhettlyn, Lynleigh, Greyson, his sisters, Ursi (Jim) Kramer, Gina (Jon) Harrison, Jennifer Tidwell, his brothers, Robert Knox, Lanny (Donna) Baker, his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Beth Knox.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the North Branch Wesleyan Church or the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2023, 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Friday, December 29, 2023, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the North Branch Wesleyan Church with funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Vic Bass will officiate. Charlie will be laid to rest at West Deerfield Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
