Charles (Chuck) Walther, of North Branch passed away on Sunday, November10, 2019 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Chuck was born on August 8, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Henry and Charlotte (Leib) Walther. He attended School in Berkley, Michigan. Chuck proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era. Chuck married Louise Kores on November 26, 1966, they celebrated 53 precious years of marriage. He was employed at AC Flint Spark Plug with 30 years of service and he retired in 2006. Chuck was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping with his family. He loved wood carving and his classic 1949 Hudson car. Chuck and Louise enjoyed going to the North Branch Senior Center. Chuck was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all of them.
Chuck is survived by his wife Louise; children, Cindy (Dana) Bradshaw, Michael (Maggie) Walther, Scott (Lori) Walther and Susan (Scott) Boyne; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Walther and Kenneth (Shireen) Walther; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Don Dovey; brother Peter Walther; sister Ann Wells; and great-grandson Terry.
Memorials may be direct to the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan.
The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a scripture service will be recited at 7:00 PM all at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Monday, November 18, 2019 Chuck will lie in state from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The mass will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Muma officiating. Burial will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, North Branch. Military honors will be conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
