Catherine Anne (Schank) Miglin, age 94 of Rockford, Michigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Catherine was born on September 12, 1931 in North Branch to George and Josephine (Vielhaber) Schank. She carried with her the values of family, faith and kindness, throughout her long and meaningful life.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Josephine Schank, siblings, Mary Hall, George, Gertrude Houck, Edward, Dorothy Herron, Clarence, Raymond, Lucille Lamphere, Archie and special nephew Paul.
Catherine was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Frank (Marolyn) Miglin, Monica Kubik, Daniel (Blanca) Miglin, Catherine (Brent) Smith, and Theresa Darling. She was a proud grandmother to Nicole, Chad, Melanie, Christina, Wes, Jason, Erica, Logan and Alexandra, and a cherished great-grandmother to 17, and one more on the way. She is also survived by her brother Duane Schank, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Catherine will be remembered for her warm spirit and the simple joys she loved so much. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions, watching basketball and golf. She found happiness in word search books, watching QVC, Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, listening to country music, and dancing the polka. Most of all, Catherine treasured time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive visitors at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 6645 Washington Street, North Branch, Mi 48461 on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 9:45am-10:30am. A funeral will be held at 10:30am, with Father Jim Houbeck officiating. There will be a luncheon following the funeral service at Keenan Hall.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, in Catherine’s name. The family has requested that they do not want trees planted in Catherine's memory.
