Carl J Petitt

Carl J Petitt, age 82, of North Branch passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at McLaren Hospital, Flint, MI. Carl was born on October 12, 1940, in Lapeer, the son of AJ and Marion (Conway) Petitt. He grew up in the Columbiaville area. Carl proudly served in the United States Navy. On June 1, 1962, Carl married Lois Lequita Godwin in California.  He retired from General Motors as a skilled tradesman.

Carl enjoyed farming, garage sales, auctions, hunting, fishing and attending his grandchildren sporting events. He loved spending time with his family.

Carl is survived by his sons, Carl Petitt, William (Natalie) Petitt, Shane (Beth) Petitt and David (Rachel) Petitt, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters, Shirley (Jack) Murray, Sandy (Dave) Aldridge, Marilyn LeClaire, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lequita, his parents, great-grandchildren, Jonny Petitt and Chloe Arfsten.

The family will be present for visitation on Tuesday, October, 18, 2022, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, October 19, 2022, 12:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. with funeral service at 2:00 P.M. all at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Brent Jerome will be officiating. Carl will be laid to rest next to his wife at Westlawn Cemetery.
