Bradley "Brad" W. Thompson

Bradley “Brad” W. Thompson, age 71, of North Branch passed away on February 4, 2023 at McLaren Lapeer Region with his family by his side. Brad was born in Clifford, MI on June 1, 1951, the son of Jack and Ethel (Abbey) Thompson.  Brad grew up in the North Branch area and was a 1969 graduate of North Branch High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. Brad retired from General Motors. On February 23, 1974 he married JoAnn Shaver. Brad enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, riding his side by side and playing Keno. Brad loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Brad is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn, his children, Shelia (Dax) Canty of Gladstone, Darek (Kathi) Thompson of Attica and Cherri (Mark) Cooper of North Branch, his grandchildren, Cameron, Kennedy, Drew, TaPanga, Liberty and Clarity, his great-grandchildren, Piper, August and Winona,  his brother, Marvin Thompson of North Branch,  many North Branch friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Thompson, his father and mother-in-law, Willis and Ella Shaver.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Visitation for Brad will be on Thursday, February 9, 2023, 1:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. with Military Honors conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post 457 at 5:00 P.M. at  Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Brad will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
