Betty Marie (Brown) Sutton

Betty Marie Sutton, age 90, of North Branch passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility with her family by her side. Betty was born on October 17, 1931, in Lapeer County, the daughter of Glenn Frank and Mildred (Nelsey) Brown. She was a 1949 Lapeer High School graduate. On March 30, 1950, she married John Sutton in Lapeer.

 Betty worked at the Lapeer County Co-op, Lapeer Regional Hospital and retired from North Branch Area Schools as a cook. Betty was a very active and community minded person. She was a 4-H Leader, member of the Farm Bureau Home Extension, Order of Eastern Stars, Garden Club, Michigan Association of Retired Personal, member of the First United Methodist. Betty was a talented cook and baker. She enjoyed cooking full course meals for her family. Family meant everything to Betty

Betty is survived by her children, Larry (Julia) Sutton, Roger (Elizabeth) Sutton, Linda (Ken) Bader, Carol (Richard) Ellis, Glenn Sutton and Nancy (Randy) Richmond; her 15 grandchildren and  several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, her daughter-in-law, Colleen Sutton and her brother, Norman Brown.

Memorials in Betty’s name may be directed to Lapeer County Medical Care Facility-Serenity Room.

 The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, March 27, 2022, 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Sunday evening, Eastern Star services will be at 7:00 P.M. On Monday, March 28, 2022, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Gloria Cox will officiate.  Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband at Stiles Cemetery in Lapeer.
