Bernell Wilson Obituary

Bernell Earl Wilson, age 67 of North Branch was welcomed home to heaven by his mother Shirley May on January 4, 2022. Bernell was born on August 2,1954 and raised on the family farm in North Branch, MI and he carried on the legacy by having his own farm. On November 6, 1971, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Marge Wilson. They celebrated 50 years of marriage and those were the happiest years of his life.

There was nothing that made Bernell happier than his farm life. He had a passion for fixing up old mustangs and loved to polish them until they turned into a mirror. He’d floor his mustang out onto the road with the windows rolled down and he’d laugh as soon as the tires squealed. He loved his Farmall tractors and taking care of his cows, cats, and dogs. Bernell was happiest when he was outside and spent as much time as he could out in the sunshine until it was time for the news forecast. He was the epitome of a hardworking farmer and a practical joker. He loved pranking his friends, coworkers, and family and always had a wild story to tell. His favorite was to tell children that he lost his finger by picking his nose.

But what Bernell loved most was his family. His wife was his best friend and he loved her with his whole heart. There is nothing that made him happier than a phone call or visit from one of his kids or grandkids and everyday he looked forward to hearing from them. He taught his family the value of love, hard work, and trust. His entire family knew that no matter the reason, he was only one phone call away. And that when it was time to do hay or straw all the kids would be there.

Left to cherish the memories of him are:

His beloved wife Marge, daughter Tammie and son-in-law Greg LaVell, and son Bernie Wilson.  His brother George and sister-in-law Charlotte. His brother-in-law Ken and his wife Wanda.  His grandchildren: Brady Wilson, Andy and his wife Mae Wilson, Sabrina LaVell and her boyfriend Tyler Brown, and Alexis and her husband Ty Bodeis. His great grandson Aden Wilson. His dog Jessie and all of his barn cats. All will miss him dearly and hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his sweet mother Shirley May Wilson and loved Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Marjorie and Fred Smith.
