Benjamin “Ben” Haight, 68, of North Branch passed away on March 13, 2026 with his family by his side at United Hospice Service of Aspire, Marlette MI. Ben was born on February 20, 1958 in Port Huron, the son of William and Matilda (Tyson) Haight. He grew up in the Lapeer area, and graduated from Lakeville High School in 1976. Ben married Everlyn McCoy on November 18th, 1978 and they shared 47 years together. Ben retired from Delta, after 40 years.
Ben was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved working on vintage motorcycles, classic cars and trucks. He had an affinity for fixing anything with a motor. He was a Lions and NFL fan and enjoyed watching Pawn Stars. Ben enjoyed gardening. He collected sap from his own trees, and made maple syrup each year. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Ben is survived by his wife, Everlyn, children, Jeremy (Jinelle) Haight, Sarah (Kirt Blanchard) Russell, Kayla Stirling, Dale Russell, grandchildren, Aubree and Kolton Russell, Aiden and Ella Haight, siblings, David Haight, Mary (Wally) Mahnke, Carol (Jim) Berry, Tom (Carolyn) Haight, Tilly (Darin) Williams, Joe Haight, Richard Haight, many nieces and nephews, special friends, Eddie Medbury, Gene Suuppi. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Judy Ritch, Jane Haight, Minnie Arrand and brother, Daniel and his wife Donna, niece Cassandra Miller-Haight, and nephew Don Ritch.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday March 28th, from 11:00am-1:00pm, at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with memorial service at 1:00pm. Pastor Brian Diring will officiate.
In keeping with Ben’s wishes cremation has been entrusted to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.
