Arnold "Scott" L. Thewalt

Arnold “Scott” L. Thewalt, age 81 of North Branch passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at his home.  Scott was born on April 4, 1940 in Detroit, MI, the son of Hubert and Hedwig (Eidenberg) Thewalt. He grew up in the Detroit area and was a graduate of Denby High School.  Scott proudly served in the United States Army.

 On June 11, 1971 he married Joyce Ferrier at Garden Angels Church in Detroit. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Scott was a real estate agent. He enjoyed playing volleyball, racquetball and pool. He loved playing Texas Holdem. Most of all he enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, his nephew, Mark Ferrier and his niece, Kelly Ferrier.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Eric Ferrier.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lapeer County Department of Veterans’ Affairs or Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren/Lapeer Region.

Joyce would like to thank the Shiva family, the Chandan family and Colleen Ayling for their love, help and support during this difficult time.

There will be a gathering at the Thewalt’s home on Saturday, August 28, 2021,

1:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M., 6130 Jones Road, North Branch. Family and friends are invited. Military honors will be conducted at 4:45 P.M. by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.

Cremation has taken place. Scott will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery at a later date.
