Annette Marie Schank, 86, of North Branch passed away peacefully at the United Hospice House of Marlette Regional Hospital on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Annette was born on January 20, 1938, in Marlette, the daughter of Herbert and Nellie (Gamage) Heussner. Annette grew up in Marlette in the Germania
Road area. She was proud to call herself a Germania girl. She graduated from Marlette High School with honors in 1956. She married Raymond Schank on November 9, 1957 in Marlette. Annette was a homemaker, taking care of her family was very important to her. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family. Annette was a very caring person. She was always interested in her family activities including her nieces and nephews.
Annette is survived by her children, Steve Schank, Darla (Doug) Short, Kaye Schank, Joan (Lenny) Zeigler, Joseph (Cheryl) Schank, Amy (Scott) Macco, daughter-in-law, Sherri Schank, 15 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Duane Schank, sister-in-law, Catherine Miglin, Heussner cousins, many Schank nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond (2019), son, Edward, (2000), very dear friend, Ruth Cornell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital.
The family will be present for visitation on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Thursday, August 1, 2024, visitation will be 12:00 P.M-1:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Burnside Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Sama Muma will officiate. Annette will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary’s Burnside Cemetery.
