Amanda Nicole Goretski of North Branch passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 39 on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Amanda was born on April 23, 1986 in Southfield, the daughter of Michelle Goretski and Rodney Henning. Amanda graduated in 2004 from North Branch High School while raising her baby daughter. She was a cheerleader and her best friend nicknamed her “DaManda”. She was a little demanding at times. And time was one thing she knew nothing about. She was late for everything. She loved hanging out with her two daughter’s family and friends. She was happy trying a restaurant, bowling or going to the beach. She loved her job at Sam’s Coney Island in Lapeer.
Amanda was kind, loving, helpful, loud, funny until two years ago when mental health took full control of her life. She lost her way, her happy self. She didn’t smile. She didn’t see or feel anything like we did. The voices in her head created an impenetrable fortress that blocked the light preventing the love of her family, her friends and any sense of comfort and confidence from reaching her. In the end it was those voices in her head that took her from us.
Amanda is survived by her daughters, Madison Goretski and Olivia Boldrey, her mother, Michelle (William) Goretski, siblings, Brandon, Paul, Emma, grandparents, Virginia Goretski-Farrell and Pat Deroy, cousins, aunts and uncles plus her fur baby Cooper. She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Henning, grandfather, Ronald (Dzia Dzia) Goretski and her niece Malaya Goretski.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025, 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 P.M. Rev. Cremation has been entrusted to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.
