Allen Kennedy Obituary

Allen Wilbert Kennedy, age 80, of North Branch, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Born July 10, 1945, Allen spent his entire life in the North Branch community-a place he loved deeply and served proudly. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of 59 years and their children: Colleen Marie Kennedy (Michael Krzeminski), Angus Patrick Kennedy, and Sean William (Stacy) Kennedy. He was a cherished grandfather to Gavin (Karissa) Kennedy, Zackery, Olivia, Sophia, and Oliver Kennedy, and a proud great-grandfather to Merrydith Kennedy. He is also survived by his sister, MaryEllen Mumby, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bonnie Jean Bussure and brother-in-law William Mumby. Allen will be remembered for his quick sense of humor, his kind and generous heart, and his remarkable ability to help anyone with anything. He taught his children the importance of self-sufficiency, problem-solving, loyalty, and always putting family first. Allen worked for General Motors for 30 years as a tool and die maker. He also served his community for more than 20 years, including as a Village Trustee from 1973 to 1980 and as President of North Branch Village from 1980 to 1984. He enjoyed woodworking but watching his grandchildren play sports was one of his greatest joys, and he rarely missed a game. Allen's legacy is one of dedication, honesty, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, Allen will be cremated, and a private memorial service will be held in the spring of 2026.
