Albert "Al" F. Chappel

Albert “Al” Forrest Chappel, 91, of Lapeer passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Lapeer Stonegate Health Campus under hospice care.  Al was born on August 19, 1934 in Marlette, the son of Simon and Gladys (McAllister) Chappel.  He proudly served his country in both the United States Army and Navy.  Al married Nancy Rock on June 7, 1959. He owned and operated his own construction business “Beaver Builders”.  Al enjoyed fishing and the years he and Nancy spent in Las Vegas.

Al is survived by his daughters, Wanda (Rob) Phillips and Tami Chappel, grandchildren, Tianna (Doug) Fenlon, Holly (Cory) Severn, Nicole (Adam) Toole, Brandi (Chris) Detloff, Tiffany (Rick) Raymond, great-grandchildren, Landon, Lucas, Lanie, Logan, Ella, Dylan, Ethan, Maverick and Gunnar, brothers, Bob Chappel and Larry Chappel.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and his parents,

In keeping with Al’s wishes cremation had been entrusted to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Al and Nancy will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
