Thelma Effie Bernice (Stoner) Gruber

Thelma Effie Bernice Gruber, age 82 of Fostoria, joined the arms of our loving Lord on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at her home.  She spent her last days surrounded by her family, and friends under the care of McLaren Hospice.  Thelma was born on December 5, 1934, the daughter of LeRoy and Georgia (Cragher) Stoner.  On September 18th 1954 she married Donald Gruber at the Ortonville Baptist Church in Ortonville, Michigan.  Thelma was a cook and salad maker for the White House Inn for 4 years.

Thelma enjoyed working on her puzzle books, making ceramics, canning and cooking for her family.

Thelma is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Donald Gruber; her children, Deborah Ann (Danny) Day, Donald LeRoy Junior (Susan) Gruber, Emma Marie Gruber, Pamela Lynn (Tracy) Mancour, John (Rena) Gruber, Sandra Kay Gruber, 4 grandchildren, Donald James (Stacey) Gruber, Heidi Renee (Timothy) Dodge, Kaliesha Ann Gruber (Rob), John Earl (Amanda) Gruber; and 8 great-grandchildren, Jennifer Gruber, Donavon Gruber, Michael Gruber, Logan Dodge, Mason Lodge, Chance Gruber, Samantha Gruber, and Hierolynn Gruber, sister, Joyce Allen; brother, Lawrence (Ann) Stoner, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Leroy and Georgia Stoner; brothers, Richard (Mary) Stoner, and Donald Stoner; sisters, Marjorie (George) Anderson and Janet and (Gerald) Riley.  

Memorials may be made to the family to help pay for her medical expenses or the McLaren Hospice.

There will be a gathering from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on November 25, 2017 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  Pastor David Hill will officiate.
