Thelma "Jean" (Hodges) Caldwell

Thelma Eugina “Jean” Caldwell, 93, of North Branch, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Covenant Healthcare Center Harrison, Saginaw. Thelma was born August 1, 1925 in Roscommon, Michigan to George Forrest Hodges and Mildred I. (Bogart) Hodges. She grew up in Roscommon and attended school there. She graduated in 1943 from Gerrish-Higgins High School.  Thelma would marry Lloyd Caldwell on November 3, 1945 at the North Branch Methodist Church.

 Thelma worked as a telephone operator in Lapeer and then would work as a clerk for the North Branch Food Locker. She enjoyed fishing and camping.  She loved looking up her family history. Of course she loved all her grandkids and great-grandkids.

 Thelma is survived by her children: daughter: Donna (Lynn) Gates; Son; Bill (Kim) Caldwell and son-in-law: James Osborne; her sister Beverly Granger all of North Branch.  Thelma is also survived by her grandchildren: Laura, Robert, and Kyle Caldwell; Melissa (Jerome) Grzanka; Angelia Smith; Dennis (Tricia) Osborne; Jennifer and Jeffery Gates; Marie Skunda; Great-grandchildren: Nicklaus, Marina, Dustin, Dillion, Delia and Damon Caldwell; Sierra and Choe Bakers; Emma Smith; Lily, Sammantha, Alison, Ariel and Justice Osborne and Haley Skunda; Great –great grandchildren: Sophia, Merida and Brooks Osborne. She also had many nieces, nephews. Her special friends were Pat Kasprus and Shelly Wells.

 Thelma was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband; Lloyd, Daughter: Loraine Osborne and Son: Dan Caldwell.

Family will be present for visitation on Saturday January 12, 2019 from 12pm-8pm and Sunday January 13,2019 from 2pm-3pm. Funeral Service will follow at 3pm all at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, North Branch, MI. Rev. Ron Hutchinson will be officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband Lloyd and her son Dan at Maple Grove Cemetery, North Branch.
