Roy F Reynolds

Roy F. Reynolds Jr. age 91,  lifelong resident of North Branch passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Stonegate Health Campus in Lapeer with his family at his side.  Roy was born August 3, 1926 in North Branch Twp., the son of Roy Frances and Catherine (Miller) Reynolds Sr.  Roy graduated from North Branch High School in 1944, and continued his education at Michigan State University in Agriculture where Marie and Roy first met and their love continued for 66 years.

 Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in 1947 thru 1948.  On April 15, 1950 Roy married Anna Marie Gattner.  Roy was a farmer and the owner of the Reynolds Berry Farm and the Apple Barn of Barnes Lake. The Reynolds were very active in the 4-H of Lapeer County.   Roy enjoyed his weekends at “The Pond”.  Marie and Roy spend their winters in Wooddale Park in Zephyrhills, FL. 

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Dale (Debra) of North Branch; daughter, Ann (David) Waterloo of South Branch; son Mark (Patricia) of North Branch; and daughter, Linda (David) Thibodeau of North Branch; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Blanche Swoish of North Branch, Betty (Larry) Coates of Fostoria, and Shirley (David) Bates of North Branch; sister-in-law, Evelene (Gordon) Iacovoni of Traverse City; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Marie on January 25, 2017, and sister, Catherine Robinet.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michigan State University 4-H Extension, 1800 Imlay City Road, Suite 1, Lapeer, Michigan 48446

The family will be present for visitation on Monday, September 25, 2017 4 to 8 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held at his favorite place “back at the pond” on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Creek Road, North Branch, MI.  Rev. Ronald Hutchinson will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted at the Reynolds Pond by the American Legion Post #457.  Roy will be laid to rest next to his wife, Marie at Greenwood Cemetery, North Branch.
