Robert L. McDowell, 97, of Lapeer, MI formerly from North Branch, MI passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019.  Bob was born in Lapeer County on March 25, 1922, the son of Lewis and Sarah (Scrimger) McDowell. Bob grew up in the North Branch area.  He attended Tozer School and was a graduate of North Branch High School in 1940.   On May 25, 1944, he married the love of his life, Dorothy M. Beach in Fostoria, MI.  He was a self-employed Electrician and Plumber.  Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.  He was a member of the West Deerfield Methodist Church in Fostoria, MI

Bob is survived by his children, Patricia McLaughlin of Haslett, Mi., Jane Marie Finkbeiner of Lake Alfred, Florida, Sara Lynne (Kenneth) Byrzynski of Henderson,Nevada, Michael R. (Karen) McDowell of Lenoir City, Tennessee,  Richard D. (Theresa) McDowell of Wathan, N. Carolina, and son-in-law, Roger Morey of Texas, 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, daughter, Judith Ann Morey, son-in-law, Michael Finkbeiner,  grandson, David Finkbeiner and 6 brothers.

Family will be present for visitation on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  at Blackburn Chapel.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at  Blackburn Chapel with visitation 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Deacon Joseph Schierlinger will officiate.

Robert will be laid to rest next to his wife, Dorothy at West Deerfield Cemetery in Fostoria, MI.
