Raymond C. Schank

Raymond C. Schank, age 83,of North Branch passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Lapeer/McLaren Regional Hospital. Raymond was born on July 19, 1935, the son of George and Josephine (Vielhaber) Schank at the family home on Lake Pleasant Road.  Raymond grew up in North Branch.  On November 9, 1957, he married Annette Heussner in Marlette, MI, together they spent 61 years.  He loved farming & John Deere tractors. Raymond enjoyed listening to Daniel O’Donnell and polka music. Raymond looked forward to family gatherings large or small and spending time with the grandchildren.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Annette; his children, Steve Schank, Darla (Doug) Short, Kaye Schank, Joan (Lenny) Zeigler, Joseph (Cheryl) Schank and Amy (Scott) Macco; daughter-in-law Sherri Schank; sisters, Mary Hall, Catherine Miglin and Lucille Lamphere; brother, Duane Schank; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Edward (2000); his brothers, George Jr., Edward, Clarence, Paul and Arthur; his sisters, Gertrude Houck and Dorothy Herron.

Visitation for Raymond will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, 4:00 P.M-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel with Rosary at 7:00 P.M.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at St. Mary’s Burnside Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 A.M.  Father Sama Muma will be officiating. Raymond will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Burnside Cemetery.
