Patricia Marie (Medbery) Myers

Patricia M. Myers, age 59 of North Branch passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital.  Patty was born on March 12, 1958 to James and Alta Medbery from Fostoria.  She graduated from North Branch High School in 1976.  Patty held many jobs.  She worked at Lyons and Smith Department Store from 1976 to 1979 and many other stores around the community.  Patty worked at Lapeer Fabricators-Meridian in the production assembly dept. for 16 ½ years, then she attended Mott College and received an Associate’s Degree as an Information Processing Specialist.  Patty worked at the Numatics Factory in production assembly for 6 years before retiring.  Later, she worked part-time as a caregiver for the elderly in their homes.  Patty was always a happy and friendly person to all.  In 2005 she married Freddie Myers.  He preceded her in death. Patty loved to travel down south each year to visit Fred’s family and spend time with her family and friends at the Hillside Discipleship Church. Patty thought the world of Lee Myers, he took care of her and watched over her after Freddie passed away.   Patty attended Hillside Discipleship Church where she was baptized on October 18, 2015 by her best friend since kindergarten, Debbie (Jones) Stewart.  Patty truly loved the Lord and met her new family in Christ.  Patty was the leader of Hillside’s Care and Connect Team.  She loved Bible Study and volunteered for many church events. Patty loved to shop, especially at yard sales, writing special creative poems for others, and studying medicine.  Patty was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers, but she especially enjoyed watching NASCAR.  Three of her favorite racers are; (#48 Jimmie Johnson), (#88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.),  and (#4 Kevin Harvick).

Left to cherish her memory are; Fred’s children, Lee Myers of Otisville and Danele Myers of North Branch; brothers, Edward (Sharon) Medbery of North Branch, and John Medbery of North Dakota; sisters, Kathy (Bill) Smith and Phyllis (Dick) Nordman both of Florida; parents-in-law, Jack and Louise Echols of Flint; brothers-in-law, Howard (Debbie) Myers of Columbiaville, and Daniel (Tammy) Echols of Burton; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Tom) Snoblen of North Branch, and Debbie (Wayne) Readman of Burton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. 

She was preceded in death by her precious husband, Freddie Myers; her parents; and a baby step-brother, Jimmie Medbery.

Memorials may be made to the Hillside Discipleship Church or to the North Branch Thrift Shop.

The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 3 to 8 PM    at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  The Funeral will be Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Hillside Discipleship Church on North Lapeer Road.  Pastor Todd Petty will be officiating.   Patty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Freddie Myers at Greenwood Cemetery in North Branch.
