Michael Gino Fantin, age 46 of Grand Rapids (formerly of North Branch) passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home.
Michael was born on October 8, 1971 in Lapeer to Mario & Linda (Traubenkraut) Fantin of North Branch. He grew up in North Branch and graduated in 1989. He continued his education at Aquinas College earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a nurse for several years and then owned QCI Staffing before working for Konicopharm of America, a pharmaceutical company as a sales representative, including maintenance and training on cholesterol machines .
Michael loved being with his daughter and grandsons, and going to all their sporting events. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his group, The Star of Grand Rapids #504 and being outside with nature. He also enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends.
Michael is survived by his parents Mario & Linda (Traubenkraut) Fantin, daughter Megan Colon- Fantin of Davison, grandsons Madden and Maverick Vandecar, sisters Natalie (Jim) Howard of Fenton, Beverly (Steven) Kuznicki of Northville, brothers Daniel ( Donna) Fantin of Taylor, Thomas (Angie) Fantin of Hudsonville. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his brother, John, grandparents William & Marie Tranbenkraut and Edevige & Natale Fantin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for his grandsons’ education.
Family will be present for visitation on Thursday, May 24th at Blackburn Chapel –Martin Funeral Home from 1PM to 8 PM. On Friday May 25th Michael will lie in state at SS Peter and Paul Church 6645 Washington Street, North Branch, Michigan 48461 from 10AM-11AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Father Treml will officiate.
