Max Johnson Obituary

Max D. Johnson, age 87 of Fostoria, formerly of North Branch, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his home.  Max was born in Lapeer on October 15, 1931 to Robert and Caroline (Docherty) Johnson.  Max grew up in the Lapeer area.  On April 12, 1952 Max married the love of his life Geneva Cole in Lapeer.  Max served his country in the Army.

Max was a self-employed carpenter and a farmer.  He loved to do woodworking and go fishing.

Max is survived by his wife, Geneva, sons-Kenneth (Ruthann) Johnson and Kevin Johnson, daughter-Ronda (Kenneth) Wickham and daughter-in-law Lorraine (Scott) Swoish; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  Max was preceded in death by sons-Keith and Dean Johnson, daughter-Beverly Paetsch, 2 great-grandchildren, his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Family will be present for visitation on Saturday, March 16, 2019- 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Sunday, March 17, 2019-10:00-11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM with nephew Brad Johnson officiating.  Max will be laid to rest at West Deerfield Cemetery.
