Lorene Mabel (Pyke) Cox

Lorene Mabel Cox, age 90 of Clifford, passed away Thursday July 12, 2018 at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital. Lorene was born Oct. 19, 1927  in  Canada to William and Mabel (Price) Pyke.  She grew up in Auburn Heights and went to school and graduated there. In 1945 she would marry Gordon Cox in Kentucky. She was a housewife.

 Lorene went to church at the Church of Christ in Lapeer. She loved her flower gardens, feeding the birds and spent many hours reading. She also loved her dog, Millie.

 Lorene is survived by daughter Louise O’Rourke (Gary Murray) of North Branch. Grandchildren Lacey (Casey) Linck and Chad O’Rourke.  Sisters Barb (Gordon) Wilson and Nancy (Butch) Parker.  She had many nephews and nieces and was especially close to Jeff (Nancy) Parker.

 She is preceded in death parents, Husband and 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

Memorials may be directed to United Hospice Service.

 The family will be present for visitation Sunday July 15th, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm at Blackburn Chapel- Martin Funeral Home in North Branch. Lorene will be laid to rest with her husband at North Branch-Burlington Cemetery at a later date.
