Kevin James "Newbie" Newbegin

Kevin James Newbegin, age 32, of Clifford, Mi. passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 due to injuries from  an automobile accident.  Kevin was born on January 4, 1987 in Odessa, Texas, son of Gary and Karen (Ford) Newbegin.  Kevin grew up in the North Branch/Clifford area. He attended North Branch Area Schools and was a 2005 graduate. He loved playing soccer.  Kevin was known as “Newbie” to his family and friends.  Kevin married his high school sweetheart Ashley Naracon on January 18, 2014 at the old elevator in Clifford, Mi.                       

Kevin was employed by Kaltz Excavating in Clio as a laborer. He loved fishing and dance parties with his girls. Valerie and Hannah were the absolute center of his world.

Kevin will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Ashley; adoring daughters, Valerie and Hannah; his parents, Gary and Karen Newbegin;  brother, Felipe (Shannon) Castanon; sister, Kayla Newbegin;   in-laws, Duane and Lori Naracon; brother-in-laws-  Jerrod (Kristy) Naracon and Alex (Christina) Naracon; grandfather, Eugene (Debbie) Newbegin;  grandmothers, Jeanette Ford, Jackie Hutchins and Virginia Naracon .Kevin is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and  six nieces.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ellen Newbegin; grandfathers, Jack Ford, Jerry Hutchins and Fred Naracon; and his Uncle Mike Ford.

Memorials may be directed to the family for the girls’ educational fund.

The family will be present for visitation on Monday, February 25th from 5 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday, February 26th from 10 am to 11 am with the Funeral Service at 11 am all at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Jon LaFavor will be officiating. Kevin will be laid to rest in Westlawn Cemetery in North Branch at a later date.
