Josephine Ann Ruhlman, age 88, of North Branch, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at McLaren Lapeer Regional Hospital with her family at her side. Josephine was born at home on October 18, 1930 in Burnside Township, the daughter of Jerome and Rosella (Kreiner) Kohler. Josephine grew up in the Burnside area and graduated from Marlette High School.
On July 12, 1958, Josephine married Leo Ruhlman at St. Mary’s Burnside Catholic Church. She was a life-long member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Josephine was a homemaker, and worked along-side her husband on the family dairy farm for nearly 40 years. She especially enjoyed playing bingo, cards, gardening and spending time with her family. She was loved by all that knew her and brought joy to everyone in her life.
Josephine is survived by her children, Thomas (Mary) Ruhlman of North Branch, Timothy Ruhlman Sr. (Kathy) of North Branch, Cathy (Jeff) Render of Brown City, Alan Ruhlman of Lum and Patrick (Debbie) Ruhlman of North Branch; sister, Mary Kohler of North Branch; sister-in-law, Norma Kohler of Brown City; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; daughter, Mary Theresa; brothers, Leo, James, John, Edwin, Bernard and Robert.
Memorials may be made to the Display Gardens at Lapeer Medical Care Facility (Suncrest).
Visitation for Josephine will be held Sunday, August 4, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Blackburn Chapel. On Monday, August 5, 2019 visitation will be 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM with rosary at 7:00 PM at Blackburn Chapel. Josephine will lie in state Tuesday, August 6, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch. The Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Treml officiating. Josephine will be laid to rest next to her husband Leo, and daughter Mary Theresa at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in North Branch.
