John F. Quertermous

John F Quertermous age 81, of Fostoria passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.  John was born April 19, 1936 in Hayti, Missouri, the son of Floyd Thomas and Hazel Lorene (Wilson) Quertermous. John married Lula Sampson in December 1959.  They were married over 59 years.

John was employed for Greyhound Foods for over 30 years.  He sold food from a lunch wagon at Fisher Body Plant.  John enjoyed farming and raising cattle.  John had a pleasant personality and he enjoyed socializing with people, and  spending time at gatherings with his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Lula; daughter, Teresa (Brett) Rosenberg of Troy; and sons, Dan Quertermous and Jeff Quertermous both of Fostoria; sister, Kathleen Baird of Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Sarah, Joshua, and Chelsea; 3 great-grandchildren, Paige, Macy, Kelsey; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara Sue and Maxine; brother, Floyd Leslie.

The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 10 AM to 1 PM with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 PM, all at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  Pastor Kay Leitelt will officiate.  Burial will be in Rich Cemetery, Mayville, MI.
