Carl Lewis McDowell

Carl McDowell, age 82 of Fostoria passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at McLaren Lapeer Region.  Carl was born December 29, 1934 in Columbiaville, the son of the late William and Bertha (Hosler) McDowell.  Carl grew up in the Fostoria area and he graduated from North Branch High School in 1952.  Carl continued his education at GM University and worked at GM for over 34 years.   He married Judith Manning on August 15, 1953 in Flushing. Carl enjoyed woodworking, especially making frames with Judith and kitchen cupboards. Carl took great enjoyment in playing cards with the grandchildren and spending time with the grandchildren and family.

Carl is survived by his wife, Judith; daughter, Christina (Steven) McBride of Fenton; sons, Russell (Sandy) McDowell of Fenton, and Tim (Sheri) McDowell of Davison; sisters, Marion Mitchell of Burton, and Dorothy Houck of Frankenmuth; 9 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lee.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 3 to 8 pm and on Friday, December 1, 2017 from noon to 1 pm at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  Rev. Ron Hutchinson will officiate.  The Burial will be in Rich Twp. Cemetery.
