Thomas Buckley, Jr.

Thomas Buckley, 85 of North Branch passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital .  Tom was born on September 29, 1931 in Detroit.  He was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Peteray) Buckley Sr.  In December 1955 Tom married Beverly Salyer, she passed away in 2015.  Tom  proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a member of the North Branch American Legion Post #457.  Tom retired from Pontiac Motors after 30 years of service.   Tom enjoyed farming, he would always  say, “I am out standing in the field.”  Tom loved to watch the sunset, hunting, fishing and traveling with Beverly.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Karen Buckley and her husband John Anthony Benson of Howell; granddaughter, Sarah Benson of Howell and sister, Betty Gumm of California.

He was preceded in death by parents, and wife, Beverly.

Memorial contributions may be made to the U of M Prenatal Intensive Care Unit. 

The family will be present for visitation on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home and on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 10 to 11am with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  Rev. Ron Hutchinson will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post #457.
