Patrick "PJ" Jerry Jones

Patrick “PJ” Jones, age 69, of North Branch passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Marlette United Hospice Service.  PJ was born on October 7, 1947 in North Branch Twp., the son of Floyd and Virginia (Patrick) Jones.  PJ graduated from North Branch High School in 1965.  On July 4, 2003 PJ married Sheila Johnson.  PJ proudly served his country in the U.S. army.  He retired from General Motors after 43 years of service.   PJ was a member of the North Branch American Legion Post #457, Lapeer Elks, and the VFW.  He enjoyed golfing, going to the casinos, watching football and PJ was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers.

PJ is survived by his wife, Sheila; son, Joel Severn and step-son, Cory (Holly) Severn; sisters, Sharon (Howard) DeLong of Wolverine, MI, Carman (Lenny) Crookedacre of Lapeer and June Gray of Davison; 3 grandchildren, special grand puppy, Emma, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Art Gray.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

There will be a gathering  on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the North Branch American Legion Hall with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM. Following the service, Military Honors will be conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post #457. Rev. Ron Hutchinson will officiate.  At a later date PJ will be laid to rest at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
