Mary May (Maag) Miller

Mary M. Miller, age 79, of North Branch passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Marlette United Hospice Service.  Mary was born on August 4, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Gertrude (Carr) and Harold Maag.  Mary grew up in Perry, Michigan and graduated from Morrice High School.  Mary served her country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1963.  On August 21, 1965 she married Stanley Miller in Perry, Michigan, he preceded her in death in 2012.  Mary enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, but she especially enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and her family. 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie (George) Murphy of Medina, Ohio and son, John David (Tara) Miller of North Branch; 6 grandchildren: Rodney, and Hailey Miller, Abigail, Emily, Lena, and Elizabeth Murphy; brother, Ernest (Joan) Maag of Perry; sisters: Judy(Duane) Sleight of St. Johns, Jean (Paul) Schlicklin of Perry and Marion Goda of Lapeer,  many nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley Miller and 5 siblings.

Memorials may be made to the Marlette United Hospice Service.

The family will be present for visitation on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm all at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.

Rev. Ron Hutchinson will officiate. There will be military honors directed by the North Branch American Legion Post #457 following the service.  At a later date Mary’s cremains will be buried next to her husband at Greenwood Cemetery in North Branch.
