Kathryn Nina (Rugenstein) Rachow

Kathryn Rachow, age 96, of North Branch passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth. Kathryn was born January 30, 1920 in Metamora, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Ida (Diehl) Rugenstein.  Kathryn graduated from Almont High School in 1938.  She continued her education later in life to receive her degree to be a LPN at Lapeer County General Hospital.  On September 27, 1941 she married Ralph Rachow.  Kathryn was a member of the North Branch United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed reading, quilting, playing cards, camping, square dancing, and traveling to Florida with her husband for their winters. 

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Karen (Jim) Welke of Mayville; sons; Ronald (Sharon) Rachow of Nevada, and Richard (Carolyn) Rachow of Ohio; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Memorials may be directed to the North Branch Methodist Church.

The family will be present for visitation on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5 to 8 pm at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home and Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 10 to 11 at the North Branch United Methodist Church.  The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am at the North Branch  United Methodist Church.  Rev. Ronald Hutchinson will officiate.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ralph at Westlawn Cemetery.
