Junior Norman Adams

Junior Norman Adams, age 81 of Metamora passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at WellBridge of Fenton.  Junior was born on August 4, 1935 the son of Julius Leo and Katherine (Dubbs) Adams.  Junior grew up in North Branch and graduated from North Branch High School.  He was a member of the 1954  North Branch High School Football Team  that was inducted into the High School Community Hall of Fame.  On May 25, 1963 Junior married Connie Rae Randall at the First Presbyterian Church of Croswell.  She preceded him in death on April 3, 2012.  Junior served his country in the Army National Guard acquiring the rank of Sergeant.  He retired from General Motors with almost 30 years of service. 

Junior enjoyed his home and took great pride in grooming his lawn and garden.  He loved to be outside and enjoyed bird watching, especially his many hummingbirds. When Junior was younger he loved to hunt and go fishing.  Junior enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Pistons.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Junior is survived by his son, Randy (Tina) Adams of Grand Blanc; daughter Kelly (James) Niebel of DeWitt; grandchildren, Kirsten Valdez, Logan Adams, Kendall, Chad, and Brendan Montague; brother Larry (Denise) Adams of Fort Myers, Florida; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 49 years, Connie; his Uncle Al and Aunt Florence Adams; a brother, Virgil Adams; and his sister, Rosemary Adams. 

Memorials may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Wounded Warriors Project.

The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 3 to 8 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  The Memorial Service will be on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM at New Life in Christ Church in North Branch.  Deacon Joe Schierlinger and Rev. Marvin Ramthun will officiate.  Cremation has taken place.  Junior will be laid to rest next to his wife, Connie, at Greenwood Cemetery in North Branch.
