James "Jim" Patrick Banyase

James (Jim) Patrick Banyase of North Branch, age 62,  was born on  March 17, 1955 (St. Patrick’s day) in Southgate, MI to John and Mary Banyase.  He grew up in Southgate, graduating Southgate High School in  1973.  Jim also completed 4 years of a Journeyman’s apprenticeship.  On May 29, 1981, Jim married Linda Thompson at St. Andrew Benedict Church in Detroit,  and they resided in North Branch for the last 12 years.  Jim was employed as Journeyman and belonged to local Union 292.  Jim’s hobbies include music, golf, seasonal hunting, and cooking.  Mostly he enjoyed caring for the goats and alpacas on their small farm as well as helping others.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda, mother (Mary), brother (Dave), mother-in-law (Margaret Thompson), 4 sisters-in-law (Carol, Diane, Alicia, Nancy) and 3 brothers-in-law (Jim, Steve, Joe).  He also has 8 nieces and nephews spread throughout the U.S.  Jim is also survived by close neighbors and friends, Rodney & Brenda Simpson and family, and Norm & Barb Haack and family.       

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Mrs. Linda Banyase to assist in covering medical expenses.

Family will be present for visitation on Saturday, October 14th  from 11 am – 12:30 pm.  The memorial service will be conducted at 12:30 pm on October 14th at Blackburn Chapel – Martin Funeral Home.
