George E. Knox, age 80 of North Branch passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital with his family by his side. George was born on June 30, 1936 in North Branch. He is the son of the late Kenneth and Florence ( Mack) Knox. George grew up in North Branch and graduated from North Branch High School in 1956. He went on to attend Gale Institute, MP/S in Minnesota and General Motors Apprentice School.  With the knowledge he attained he went on to be an electrician for General Motors for many years. George liked to farm. On October 20, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary Adams in Lapeer, MI. George was a faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Marlette. He was an avid fisherman and was active in the North American Fishing Club. George also enjoyed gardening. Most of all, George loved spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are: daughter, Kathleen (Mike) Sauk of North Branch;

Son, Matthew Knox of North Branch; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

George was preceded in death by: his parents, wife Rosemary, son Jeffery and brother Fred.

Memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Family will be present for visitation on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  On Thursday, April 20, 2017 George will lie in state from 12 to 1 PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6770 Marlette Road, Marlette, MI. 48453.  The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church with Pastor David Sutton and Pastor Eric Kilmer officiating.  George will be laid to rest next to his wife, Rosemary in Rich Twp. Cemetery.
