Ernie Senko

Ernest Senko age 87, a lifelong resident of North Branch passed away with his family at his side on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.  Ernie was born February 2, 1931 in North Branch Twp.  Ernie married Phyllis Bard on October 1, 1955.  He retired from General Motors with 33 years of service.  Before Ernie started his employment at General Motors he was the Chief Police for the North Branch Village with 8 years of service.  Ernie enjoyed woodworking, gardening, watching the Lions and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ernie was a member of the North Branch Lions Club and the North Branch Masons. 

Ernie is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Beth Dhooghe of North Branch; son Scott (Devona) Senko of North Branch; sister, Madeline Pawloski of Lake Orion; brother-in-law, Jim Vettese of Colorado; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents;  grandson, Roger Senko;  son-in-law, Patrick Dhooghe; sister, Julia Vettese; brother, Frank; sister-in-law, Margaret and brother-in-law, Leo. 

Memorials may be made to the Heart to Heart Hospice.

There will be a private service held at the Deerfield Cemetery, Fostoria on Saturday, February 18, 2017.  Deacon Joe Schierlinger will officiate.
