Dorothy Rappuhn, age 93, of Brown City passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Marlette Extended Care with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on July 6, 1924 to Albert and Rose (Schadawold) Koehler in Armanda, Michigan.  On December 28, 1940 she married Harold Rappuhn.  They were happily married 52 years.  Dorothy was a partner and owner of Harold and Dot’s Tavern.  Later she was an owner of a tavern in Washington, MI, and the owner of a laundry mat in Irons, MI.  Dorothy enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, cooking for her family, but especially loved spending time with her family.  Dorothy was a member of St James Lutheran Church in North Branch.

 Dorothy is survived by: her children, Linda (Richard) Baker of Imlay City, Shirley (Richard) Ogden of Capac, and Ronnie Rappuhn of North Branch, Fred (Lois) Rappuhn of Irons, MI, Bill (Marilyn) Rappuhn of Waterford, MI; and daughter-in-law, Janice Rappuhn Bax of Attica, MI; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sons, Tommy, and Harold; and great-grandson, Brent Rappuhn.

Memorials may be directed to Marlette Hospice of Marlette.

Family will be present for visitation on at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 3 to 8 PM, and on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM at St. James Lutheran Church in North Branch. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 11:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church. Pastor James Saatkamp will officiate. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband and son at Rich Township Cemetery in Rich Township.
