Dale Woidan, age 73 of Arcadia passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.  Dale was born on September 9, 1944 in Cass City, the son of Walter and Marion Jean (Clara) Woidan.  He grew up in the Attica and North Branch area.  While growing up Dale would spend his summers at his grandparents in Gagetown and Cass City.  Dale was an exceptional swimmer and was a life guard in the summers while staying at his grandparents.  Dale always loved the Vernor Estate and living next to it.  He loved the beautiful country view and the stories about the estate.  Dale married Ann Nellenbach on July 18, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  She passed away on July 11, 2003.  He retired from General Motors with 38 years of service.  Dale enjoyed playing cards, going on casino trips, camping, watching sports, and he was a true outdoorsman, he loved to deer hunt with his sons and grandsons.  Dale enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.  Dale also enjoyed his dogs, Jassy and Ranger.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Christopher (Angela), Dale and Kermit; his loving companion and friend, Sandy Smith; grandchildren, Laben and Logan Woidan; sister, Sandra Husted; brothers, Jerry (Karen) Woidan, and Jim (Donna) Woidan; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Woidan and Sandy B’Sopp; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; brothers, George, Garry, and Ron.

Memorials may be made to Wheelin Team 457.

The family will be present for visitation on Friday, November 3, 2017 from noon to 8:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM all at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10 to 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Fr. Richard Treml will officiate. 

Dale will be laid to rest next to his wife, Ann at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Burnside.
